Book Review: The Definitive Book of Chinese Astrology

I have always found an interest in Chinese Astrology. It is fascinating how a persons birth year can so accurately describe what their personality, temperament and characteristics are like. Did you know using Chinese Astrology, you can also have an in-sight to your destiny?

Now, after reading I have a complete understanding of how complex Chinese Astrology actually is. There are many branches and stems involved. This book explores both the ba Zi and the Zi Wei Shu systems, both with roots from Taoist and Buddhist traditions.

The author Shelly Wu takes the complexity out of Chinese Astrology by including a CD-Rom that calculates your Zi Wei Dou Shu chart. This chart can be calculated according to your life, 10 year period or specific year. Creating your chart is so simple, you just enter your name, birth date, time of birth and sex and then print.

Using your printed chart, Shelly Wu takes you step by step to interpret your chart. It is easy, fun and informative. Being able to interpret my life chart, I found there were things I learned about my destiny that I liked and others were not so favorable. I can take this knowledge and put extra energy and add "man luck" to those areas that are not favorable through my eyes. She explains how to determine your lucky and unlucky elements, an important factor when using to Feng Shui.

There are also chapter on the I-Ching or book of changes, Feng Shui, Chinese Palmistry, the Emperor's Destiny Chart, and the 9 Star Ki. Shelly Wu covers it all. This book is so fascinating that everyone has been talking about it. It seems like every time someone comes over, they want me to do their chart. It is interesting how everyone has a different reason for wanting to see what their chart says about their life.

If you have an interest in Chinese astrology, I suggest you check out The Definitive Book of Chinese Astrology. This book truly keeps giving. I have referred back to it a number of times and enjoyed figuring out my families chart. So far, Chloe's has proved true - she will have a sick childhood, she is always sick, hopefully something I can change. I wonder how Aiyana's will play out - she will eventually live out of the country, possibly marrying a foreigner. So far, my chart has been accurate, I wonder how this year will fold out, I have a "obstruction" on my Ju Men star in my friends palace. This is a sign of many arguments, possibly gossip, backstabbing, lawsuits. My goodness, "friends' may try to bring me down or harm my reputation? This year also marks prosperity in my property palace. We shall see what happens, and you know I will keep you updated!
